RATES & POLICIES

Payment & Insurance

Regular sessions are 50 minutes for $125. First appointments are 60 minutes at $180.

Skills for Life currently does not bill to insurance, however, an invoice (or "superbill") can be provided to submit to an insurance provider for reimbursement. Please call your insurance provider's customer service line to determine insurance eligibility.  Skills for life is unable to verify reimbursement eligibility. Skills for Life will likely begin billing to insurance in Fall of 2019 or Winter of 2020.

Payment is accepted in cash, check, or with a credit or debit card.  Clients can be billed monthly or pay at the time of service.

Confidentiality

Protected health information is confidential under HIPPA. Please read the privacy statement below for more details. For minors under age 13 a custodial guardian must give consent for therapy, and parents by default have access to the content of their child's therapy. Parents are encouraged to be involved. In Washington State, minors may receive mental health treatment if they are 13 years of age or older without the consent of a parent or guardian. With that said, Skills for Life makes every effort to include parents of minors 13 and over in the treatment process. We believe maximal benefit from therapy cannot be attained for children without caregiver involvement. We promote this communication from the first appointment, and coach children and parents on how to increase productive family dialogue. By law, any suspected abuse, neglect, or imminent harm must be reported. Copies of these and other policies will be provided before beginning therapy.

Cancellations & Late Arrivals

Cancellations or reschedules are accepted 48 hours prior to an appointment. Families may have up to three cancellations per year with less than 48 hours notice without being charged. These are allotted for illness or emergency. Please do reschedule if someone is sick and contagious. Late arrivals will be treated as regular sessions at full price and will finish at the prescheduled end time.
